For American golf courses
Golf course flyover videos for clubs in the USA
FLYTHRU creates cinematic flyover videos and interactive hole-by-hole tours for golf courses in the USA, embedded on the course website next to its online booking page. Each hole flies from tee to green and then orbits the green. Holes are built remotely from Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles, with no drone and no site visit needed.

What is a golf course flyover video for an American course?
A golf course flyover video is an aerial film that follows each hole from the tee to the green. For an American course, it shows golfers the layout, the hazards and the green complex before they book, whether the course is a daily-fee track, a municipal course, a private country club or a resort.
FLYTHRU renders each hole as a smooth tee-to-green flight followed by a slow orbit of the green. Put together, the holes form an interactive tour on the course's own website, rather than on a third-party platform.
FLYTHRU is a division of The AI Media Centre, based in Dundee, Scotland. The USA is a secondary market for us, and we deliver every US project remotely.
How much does a golf course fly-through cost in the USA?
Prices for US courses are shown in US dollars. Member-owned and community clubs can choose the Community Fly-through at $38 a month with no setup fee. Daily-fee, resort and tournament venues use the Commercial track, starting with the Club plan at $1,294 setup and $129 a month.
Plans are month-to-month with no exit fee, so a course can cancel at any time and keeps its footage forever. Annual plans give two months free.
- Community Fly-through: $38 a month, no setup fee
- Community + New Website: $254 setup, then $77 a month
- Club: $1,294 setup, then $129 a month
- Club + Web Takeover: $1,944 setup, then $194 a month
- Championship: priced on application, from $6,494 setup
How long does filming take for a US golf course?
For most US courses there is no filming at all. FLYTHRU builds each hole from Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles, working from Scotland, so nobody travels to the course and play continues as normal. Once the course is mapped, most courses are live within a week. Only Championship plans include a drone capture day on site.
Going live takes one line of script on the course's existing website. There is no rebuild and no plugins, and the flyover links to whatever online booking page the course already uses.
Do you need a drone permit to film a golf course in the USA?
In the USA, drones are regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration. Commercial flights generally need a pilot holding a Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and a registered drone. Flights in controlled airspace near airports need authorization, for example through LAANC. Most FLYTHRU plans need no drone at all, because they use 3D Tiles.
Any drone operator also needs the course's permission to take off and land on its property, and state or local rules may add further conditions.
Courses should check the current FAA requirements before agreeing to any drone filming, as the rules are updated from time to time. On most FLYTHRU plans the question never comes up.
How do US courses use flyovers to sell memberships and tee times?
US courses place the flyover beside their online booking link, so a golfer can watch a hole and book a tee time in the same visit. Private clubs use the full tour to show prospective members the course before an initiation conversation, giving the membership director something compelling to send with every inquiry.
The Caddie, a website chatbot, answers visitor questions while they browse. A monthly results email shows how many times the course flew and which holes got the most views.
Clubhouse mode runs a 16:9 auto-cycling loop on the screen in the grill room or lobby, and the tee plaque QR program puts a QR plaque on each tee so golfers can scan and watch that hole fly.
Which types of US golf course is FLYTHRU suited to?
FLYTHRU works for daily-fee and municipal courses that depend on public tee time sales, private country clubs focused on membership and initiation, and resorts that sell golf alongside stays. Each benefits from a clear tour beside the booking link, and Club + Web Takeover adds an animated homepage hero for venues wanting more impact.
Tournament venues and courses wanting footage captured on site can choose Championship, which includes drone capture at the course and quarterly re-flights, priced on application.
Can US golfers use FLYTHRU to plan trips to Scotland and Ireland?
Yes. Many American golfers plan trips to Scotland and Ireland, and FLYTHRU is based in Scotland. Our St Andrews Old Course hole-by-hole showcase lets you explore that course before you travel. It is an independent showcase, not affiliated with the R&A or St Andrews Links Trust, and shows how a full tour works.
For US course operators, the same showcase is a good way to see the quality of the finished product. You can also try our free Sample Links demo, a fictional course, and on a demo call we will fly your opening hole free.
